University Police

If the incident of violence occurred on campus, you'll want to contact University Police. When you call, simply share that you'd like to file a report with an officer. You may have to provide some detail about what you are calling about. At this point, you can specify whether or not you would like a male/female officer to take your report, and almost always, the University Police will send an officer to your location. If you'd like an advocate to be with you when you report to University Police and it's during business hours, you can contact the Case Manager- Interpersonal Violence Specialist in the Office of the Dean of Student, or Title IX Coordinator. At any time of day, OASIS is also available to advocate for you. Just call OASIS's hotline at 828-262-5035.

Boone Police Department

If the incident of violence occurred off campus, you'll want to contact the Boone Police Department. When you call, simply share that you'd like to file a report with an officer. You may have to provide some detail about what you are calling about. Watauga Sheriff

If the incident of violence occurred off campus and outside of Boone jurisdication, but in Watuaga County, you'll want to contact the Sheriff's Department. If you're unsure of the location in which the incident occurred, you can always call and they'll refer you to or transfer you to the appropriate Police Department. When you call, simply share that you'd like to file a report with an officer. You may have to provide some detail about what you are calling about. At this point, you can specify whether or not you would like a male/female officer to take your report, and almost always, the Boone PD will send an officer to your location.
