Emergency Contraception

“The Morning After Pill”

Emergency Contraception Pills (ECP) can prevent pregnancy after sex.

Consider using ECPs if:

  • you are sexually assaulted;
  • contraceptive was or may not have been used; or
  • the contraceptive did not work.

ECPs are available in our student Health Center for a fee. Call Health Services at (828) 262-6577 for more information or to make an appointment.

Emergency contraception is also now available at pharmacies without a prescription.

Please consider getting medical treatment after an assault, even if you do not want to press charges. If you are 18 years of age or older, medical services are confidential.
