Title IX

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, as amended, prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity. Sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination prohibited under Title IX. Sexual harassment may be verbal, non-verbal or physical in nature, such as persistent unwanted sexual advances or requests for sexual favors. Sexual harassment includes acts of sexual violence.
